Background to Portfolios

fundsnet has constructed its seven Ready-Made Portfolios by carefully picking funds that where possible meet the following criteria:

A strong track history for a minimum of five years
A high rating by Morningstar & Financial Express, demonstrating strong performance in its sector over three years.
A high rating by Old Broad Street Research, demonstrating strong management and systems.

Throughout this process the fundsnet research team has discounted thousands of funds that do not meet the above criteria.

Please note:

With some specialist funds, such as Property/Ethical etc, it is not possible to identify funds that are highly rated by all three agencies because many of the funds have not been in existence long enough, or cannot provide the necessary information to get a rating. This statement particularly applies to the speculative portfolio, as this is entirely invested in specialist funds.

The Morningstar & Financial Express, ratings are reviewed on a monthly basis, and the Old Broad Street Research ratings are reviewed on a quarterly basis, and ratings may change. We may therefore change the funds in the portfolio for new investors. We will not make any alteration to existing clients who have invested in one of the Ready-Made Portfolios. It is the responsibility of the client to switch any of the funds, should they wish to.

Potential investors should note that all the fundsnet Ready-Made Portfolios do have some equity/stock investment. Consequently, the values can go down as well as up, and if you withdraw your monies when values are low, you may get back less than you paid in.
